Well I've been on the road, but obviously have not been back here. I just got back from 2 1/2 weeks on the road and love the fact that I'm home. My bed felt sooooo good last night. Today was our spring football scrimmage. It wasn't a game like it used to be, which makes it pretty boring, but I went anyway. It was a beautiful day today. We are actually having a spring this year. Very, Very unusual. Usually we go right into summer. It was barely 70 today and tonight it is supposed to be in the 40s. My kind of spring weather.
After returning home from the scrimmage i dropped by the grocery store to pick up a few things. It has to be a FEW things since I fly out again on Wednesday. When I got up this morning I had my eyes set on a container of cookie mix that I bought from a co-worker. It is a ready to make package of snickerdoodles that only need eggs and butter to complete. I made the 4 dozen cookies, eating about a dozen while baking. I know now why I don't bake; 400 lbs. would soon follow.
My lazy butt should be out cleaning my yard and cutting the weeds, I mean grass. I'm sure my old cranky neighbors are just cussing me and wanting the old lady back that used to live here so she can spend her retired days making a beautiful yard. There are advantages to having retired neighbors on all sides, but there are huge disadvantages. All of their yards are perfect because they either get out in the yards constantly or have someone out there for them. I think I need to find someone to do it for me. Those weeds don't get pulled on their own, and that grass WILL continue to grow.
Ahhhh, it's so nice to be home.

Death by Thin Mints

I KNEW not to buy those damn things. There is so much fat and trans fat in those demons, let alone sugar and calories. I didn't even give myself much of a fight! I had to walk out of my way to buy them, and didn't hesitate once when handing over the money and picking the box. My only salvation was there were no purple boxes to choose from; the dreaded Samoa. After inhaling 2 chicken biscuits from Chik-Fil-A, I took the box to my office to set down on my desk. As if it was really going to set there for long, I opened the first of two packets and told myself to eat a couple to get rid of the taste. Unfortunately the taste didn't go away until an hour later when the entire box was gone. Lesson learned — damn those little bitches in green!

Chicago: Nice from the Air

Beautiful clear, cold day in Chicago. We are flying from Lake Michigan across downtown Chicago. It really is a beautiful city. It's too bad that's probably all I will see of it. My hotel and clients are in the burbs; far, far, far out in the Burbs. I don't know why I continue to book myself on the 5:50 AM flight. What a moron! I didn't get to sleep until about 1, got up at 4, and was a worthless piece of shit today. Thank god there were no meetings today. Just a big lunch at Chevys, an afternoon nap, McDonald's for dinner, and ready for bed. It doesn't help that my nose is running and I have that nice chest congestion thing going. It's all that nice yellow film that was all over my truck earlier this week in Tallahassee; pollen – in early March - then 30 degree temperatures. Typical Tallahassee Winter/Spring bolt into Summer. Guess it doesn't help that it was 30 degrees all day here in Chicago! After those 3 hamburgers, 6 piece chicken mcnuggets and large vanilla shake, I'm ready for bed.

Slackerville, USA

Tomorrow I fly to Chicago for 4 days and I'm definately looking forward to it. My co-workers that live up there complain about the cold, but I'm looking forward to the change. It did finally cool off here, so it won't be a total shock to my system when I get off the plane. I had another one of those lazy, don't feel like doing anything mornings. I didn't get to work until 11:15. I then had a lunch date at 1:00. Now I have to cram in an entire day of work into 3 hours. The sad thing is I have more than 2 days of work to do. I'm not really sure what the deal is, but hopefully a few days away will help me look at my home life and figure out how to make the necessary changes.
It also doesn't help that my sinuses are driving me crazy, I'm coughing like crazy and spitting up clots of mucus and I didn't sleep well last night. I love Tallahassee, but this time of year can be a real bitch. It's also the time of year when Tallahassee doesn't know if it's Spring, Winter or Summer; it depends on the day. We don't have normal 4 seasons here.
Now it is after lunch, and instead of doing the work I NEED to do, I'm blogging. Time to leave Slackerville.

Change of Direction

When I first started doing this blog, I set out to make it all about my work travels. I realize now that it should be about my entire life's journey; like a diary without ALL the personal stuff. (well I guess I'll put some personal stuff) I definately needed an avenue to relieve stress and internal tension. Since I love to talk and type, what better device for my communication? I need to make some changes at home. I know there is more to life than just work! Going on the road is always a new challenge and continues to be a thrill for me. It just becomes more difficult to come home to an empty house. When I do get home I find it too difficult to do the necessary things around the house. I become extrememly lethargic and damn lazy. Maybe I need someone to come over and slap me hard across the face!! LOL Friends and social settings are very important to me. I realize that my friends have other lives and that everything, surprisingly, doesn't revolve around me. I want to definately take advantage of the time I do have with them and appreciate it for what it is. I'm very thankful that my friends have introduced me to the world of blog. It's good therapy, and it doesn't cost me anything – it actually gives.

Monday, Monday

Ok, I now know I'm a road whore.
